"Pier to Pier"

Next week we are taking our annual family vacation to Florida with both of our families.  Recently, we have been doing a little shopping for Asher, and we came across this T-shirt that reminded us of an infamous jog that Elijah took with my Dad on one of our past family vacations.  Elijah has told many stories about the "Pier to Pier" run that proved to be a little more challenging than they could have imagined.  This shirt should fit Asher in time for next year's family vacation, and I'm sure he'll be ready to run "Pier to Pier" with the boys (maybe strapped to Elijah's back)!

Ah,the Pier to Pier. I had almost erased it from my memory. If memory serves, had I not gotten blisters from the soft sand it would have been a possible photo finish. Although I'm not the specimen I was back then,if my worthy competitor would be willing to offer a small handicap, I wouldn't be opposed to another P to P next month. Can't wait to see you 3, and all the Mirandas.

hmm... I think you boys should think this through a little longer. I mean, we might be too busy sunning ourselves to come pick you up off the side of the road again.

Thats because thats what lazy Hodges girls do, go to Chicken Stop for ICE and lay out on the beach. I'm sorry you can't hang with the boys. I hope you're ready for Asher's inaugural pier to pier in 2009, that boy is already kicking his feet in there.

You tell her Elijah. A)anyone but us would have had to go to the hospital, and 2)If memory serves- my fair, non-tanning wife fetched us home as others whaled out on the beach with little thought for us!

I loved the pics and am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Raina.

I sense a little animosity in the fam about the Pier to Pier. A suggestion? I've found that men tend to work a little harder if they are being videoed. Just a thought.....

Yes a video of this momentous occasion would have been appropriate, but...the girls chose to lay on the beach. It'll be 2 more years before the p2p is run again as the Mirandas plan to vacation elsewhere next year. It was an extremely hot morning and Elijah gave me a 6 min. handicap which wasn't enough for me to even make it close but without further explanation- we finished at the exact same time! We all had a great time at the beach with all(except Eddie)the Mirandas and Chuck/Syd, and at Nathan & Kristens wedding. Next time I see you guys you'll be parents!! Blessings
